Summary:

  • The role manages asset capital investment activities, ensuring compliance with policies and providing financial oversight for projects.
  • This role oversees asset capital investment processes, including proposal reviews, financial reporting, and forecasting. It ensures governance, process efficiency, and alignment with financial policies while preparing materials for stakeholders and supporting strategic decisions.

Responsibilities :

  • Capital Investment Review & Approval: Prepare proposal for capital projects, including cost-benefit and risk assessments, Net Present Value (NPV), IRR, DCF, etc., ensuring alignment with the Group Capital policy. Business partnering with internal stakeholders to gather relevant data for capital investment proposals.
  • Meeting Preparation & Stakeholder Engagement: Defined and agendas and share pre-read brochures for monthly value stream Capital Boards and Investment Committee Boards. Attend and contribute to monthly meetings for Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, and Aftermarket & Other Value Streams.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure Asset are correctly categorized in the relevant ERP systems for reporting purposes. Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, including accruals, depreciation and Capital Commitments.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Prepare accurate forecasts for asset programs during forecasting periods, ensuring accurate depreciation calculations.
  • Process Governance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and compliance with fixed asset and capital investment policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency in capital investment processes.
  • Guidance & Support: Develop and issue annual timetables for value streams to plan capital investments, providing deadlines for submission of investment packs for boards and in-flight reviews

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 6-8+ years in fixed asset accounting experience with qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA) or equivalent
  • Advanced SAP FI-AA, MS Excel (Advanced, including Investment Modelling), strong analytical and technical accounting skills (IAS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 5), experience in managing intercompany asset transfers and audits.
  • Qualified accountant with expertise in complex transactions (impairments, retirements, transfers), fixed asset modules, and financial statement reporting
  • Business partnering skills for investment committee support, including managing senior stakeholder meetings and preparing scheme documents

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical / Functional Knowledge: Possesses a strong working knowledge of Acquire To Retire processes and ability to interpret and validate documents in the context of company policies
  • Problem solving: Identifies and resolves complex queries using a logical, data-driven approach to investigate root causes. Exercises sound judgement when handling non-standard issues
  • Organisation expertise: Collaborates effectively with cross functional stakeholders (e.g. Procurement and Business)
  • Accountability: Takes full ownership of queries raised and follows through on resolutions and deadlines.  Maintains a high standard of accuracy and escalates risks or errors in a timely and professional manner
  • Leadership: Supports onboarding and training of new analysts by sharing knowledge, documentation, and best practices.
