Job Title: Product Security & Data Technical Lead

Working Pattern: Fulltime

Working location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid Working)

We’re looking for a Product Security & Data Technical Lead to join the LibertyWorks team in Indianapolis.  As the Capability Manager you will be responsible for covering the scope of developing the people, processes, and tools for cyber-physical embedded systems. This includes accountability for developing engineering personnel, delivering capability improvement, and ensuring standards and regulations are adhered to.

In this role you will lead a multi-disciplinary team developing technologies and securing a range of advanced Roll-Royce Defense products against an increasingly diverse and complex range of threats.  This is an exciting opportunity where you will be encouraged to further develop and leverage your skills and experience in Systems Security Engineering and Data Science to help grow RR capability in this pivotal area.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Lead, engage, and develop personnel to become suitably qualified and experienced to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Align assigned staff to agreed work packages, provide technical leadership to the engineering resource group, and ensure compliance to process throughout the product life cycle.
  • Lead and be accountable for the appropriate sections of the engineering and technology strategies; drive to completion with the support of functional leadership.
  • Ensure that world class rules, tools, and methods are developed and utilized effectively across the group for the accountable domain with a focus on the greater use of automation, lean processes, digital tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to drive efficiency.
  • Ensure staff are suitably qualified and experienced: that the required skills are sustainable for the future through multi-skilling, staff rotation, competency framework tools, professional networks, and standards.
  • Collaborate with government, customers, suppliers, and industry experts at all classification levels to meet technological, system, and program needs and requirements.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems) with 5+ years’ experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in STEM discipline with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems), with 3+ years’ experience OR
  • JD/PhD OR
  • To be considered for this role, must be a U.S. citizen and hold or have the ability to obtain an active, fully adjudicated TOP SECRET clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Capable and experienced in engineering, leadership, performance management, building high performing teams, and effecting a positive shift in attitudes and behaviors across teams of engineers and management level personnel.
  • Demonstrated sound engineering judgement and knowledge of key defense and LibertyWorks customers and programs.
  • Exceptional systems thinking aptitude, interpersonal skills, and communication skills (i.e., verbal, written, and presentation for both expert and non-expert audiences).
  • Knowledge of data science and embedded systems.  Possess the technical skills required to develop, implement, and secure safety critical and high integrity cyber-physical systems.
  • Experience in applying systems security policies and standards in engineering and development of cyber-physical systems such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-160, DO-326, and DoDI 5000.83.
  • Experience in applying process improvement techniques and driving business improvements.
