Job Description

Job Title: Account Officer - Americas

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 in office days a week

Working Location: Washington D.C.

An opportunity has arisen for a driven and customer-focused individual to join the Civil Aerospace Customer Regional Team at an exciting time as the commercial aviation market continues to expand and we build the foundations for future growth. The Account Officer is responsible for supporting Account Managers and VP Customers in their account management leadership roles. The Account Officer will help to integrate all aspects of the customer experience and direct the organization to ensure that expectations are set, met or exceeded.  The Account Officer may be responsible for a portfolio of accounts and be accountable/responsible for all products & services, customer satisfaction, revenue, cash and spare engine deliveries for their customer portfolio. The Account Officer may also support an AM or VP on accounts and coordinate some business aspects for the regional team. In this role, you will travel up 25% domestically with occasional international travel.

The Americas Customer Team is a fully integrated cross-functional community responsible for all facets of customer experience, from sales to through life service delivery and for all Rolls-Royce airline customers located in North and South America.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the Account Manager/VP Customers in defining and implementing customer account strategies. Use the account management process to integrate all aspects of the Rolls-Royce relationship with customers, and direct resources to support the attainment of the account.
  • Champion the use of tools and processes to ensure account management discipline.
  • Support the Account Manager/VP Customers in contract and account administration, ensuing that customer deliverables and obligations are met.
  • Ensure that contracts are administered in a way that is consistent with delivering value, including working with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve disputes and manage contract risks. Ensure accounts are managed in accordance with Compliance and ABCEC policies. Identify and drive commercial optimization opportunities on your contracts.
  • Support the Account Managers /VP Customers in generating revenue & cash plans as well as the management of cash and profit opportunities, and threat mitigation. Drive key financial payment plans with customers on such matters as Customer Responsible Charges and TotalCare invoices to achieve monthly liquidity requirements. Help minimize overdue items and develop debt recovery plans when needed.  Help to co-ordinate sales and transitions targets.
  • Support the account team in building customer relationships. Keep assigned customers informed and represent their needs and views within Rolls-Royce. Help to foster new airline relationships and help to grow the Rolls-Royce customer base in your region.
  • Support achievement of Customer Satisfaction and NPS targets for your assigned customers. Work with Services, Engineering and other relevant parties to ensure customer specific targets are met.
  • Support the SVP by integrating specific account and functional activities across the regional team to drive efficiency and ensure high standards

Who we’re looking for:

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree with 4+ years of customer-facing role, such as Customer Management, Services, Commercial or Sales experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of customer-facing role, such as Customer Management, Services, Commercial or Sales experience, OR
  • Master’s degree, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • 6+ years of customer-facing role, such as Customer Management, Services, Commercial or Sales experience in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to consult, collaborate with, and influence across all levels, including leadership both within and external to Rolls-Royce
  • Good project management skills, and an ability to multi-task effectively
  • Strategic thinking, and an ability to anticipate customer needs from a good understanding of their medium-to-long term direction.
  • Demonstrated business acumen skills, value creation and an ability to quickly grasp the value of different levers in a negotiation to ensure a positive outcome
